The Modern Vocational Training Pilot (ModVoc)

Project Description

The Targets Of Modern Vocational Training Pilot Project

The main target of this project has been to develop the contents of the trade descriptions of vocational skills competitions (World Skills Competitions, WSC) that are vital to the European industries through comparing (WorldSkills Competitions, WSC) the vocational training curricular, competence-based qualification systems and the demands of working life. The tasks of the global WSC competition and the implementation of the whole competition are guided by the trade descriptions that are commonly agreed upon. For the time being, part of these trade descriptions is out-of-date and do not take the rapid technical development of the trades into consideration. There is also some disagreement between different continents and history-based ballast in the creation of trade descriptions, which make changes difficult and partly impossible.

The global trade descriptions will in the future crystallize the key competence that is relevant in each occupation. It is therefore important that this work is supported by European vocational establishments and businesses because this will ensure the quality and competitiveness of their products. Our project has worked to meet these needs according to the spirit of the Copenhagen Declaration.
